Who is "The Way", Jesus Christ", or an "Organization?

Jesus said, "I am the Way, theTruth, and the Life"....Is there any "organizational affiliation" that supersedes His statement, and did JESUS require that we be "joined" to any modern organized religion? What did Jesus require of mankind?
